Meet Kirsty Worgan, Head of Sales EMEA
In each edition of bInformed, we interview a different member of the Bravura Solutions’ team. In this edition, we talk to Kirsty Worgan, Head of Sales EMEA.
Which office do you work out of?
Officially, I work out of the London office, but I am not there very often. My role involves a lot of travel to engage with prospective clients.
How long have you been with Bravura Solutions?
What does your role entail, what are your main areas of responsibility?
Primarily, I am responsible for leading Sonata sales across EMEA, working closely with the Propositions, Product, Development, Operations and Finance teams. The winning of new business is very much a team effort. I am also responsible for the marketing activities across both the Wealth Management and Transfer Agency divisions in the UK.
What are your views on Bravura Solutions’ achievements, which achievements in particular stand out for you, and why?
Before I joined Bravura I was always impressed with the strategic foresight the company management showed in relation to the technical transformation of Sonata. Many other fintech companies are now having to do a similar exercise, but Bravura was one of the first to recognise such a transformation was required.
Since I have joined Bravura I have been equally impressed with the deep commitment from everyone across all the teams within the company in order to ensure the success, not only of Bravura, but vitally Bravura’s clients.
Where do you see Bravura Solutions heading, what is your vision for Bravura Solutions’ future?
I strongly believe that within the financial services industry, innovation is no longer about ever increasingly complexity. Rather, it’s about how we make the complex simple.
The ability to simplify is a key strength of Sonata.
Sonata creates an environment that enables clients not only to reduce costs and build scale, but also have a modern flexible technology that supports configuration and personalised journeys.
The fact that Sonata supports a product design with a focus firmly on customer needs is a genuine innovation in the financial services marketplace. As a result, I believe Bravura is well placed to become the leading technology provider in our target markets of Wealth, Workplace and Life Insurance.
What are your personal interests, what do you enjoy doing outside of work at Bravura solutions?
I really enjoy travelling to new places and so far this year have managed to visit both China and the Ice Hotel in Sweden. I also enjoy walking, reading and have just returned to playing hockey on a regular basis after a four-year break.
Who is/has been your role model, why?
From a personal perspective my father has always been my role model. He would always offer me encouragement growing up and was always there when I needed him for advice (some of which I ignored at the time, but more often than not he was proved to be right).
From a professional perspective, I don’t have one individual role model but have been very fortunate to work with a number of people who I have learned a lot from throughout my career. I am also very lucky that many of those people became friends and so I still keep in contact with them.
What do you view as your biggest personal achievement?
I am currently in the home stretch of a three-year international MBA, which I have been completing while also working full time. It’s been challenging at times, but also great fun.
To celebrate the end of my MBA I have decided to walk the Inca Trail in August this year. While I am slightly apprehensive about it, I am really looking forward to it.
