Main activities

  • The role of the Application Integration Consultant is to consult on application developments, application deployments, technical administration, problem identification and resolution in order to support users and clients of internal applications.
  • Technical leadership across the support teams
  • To consult and provide guidance on new product development ensuring they will fit within the production environment
  • To consult and provide guidance on new client projects ensuring no contention on infrastructure within the production environment
  • Management of escalated and client sensitive issues with real time reporting to senior Support Services management, Service Delivery Managers and back to the client
  • To undertake in-depth investigations into complex business technical problems with the goal to understanding root cause and consequently passing to the Bravura Development Team detailing the suggested code resolution
  • Proactive event management and incident prevention, utilising tools such as App Dynamics
  • To identify trends in issues raised and report back with potential solutions to other support teams and senior support management
  • To continuously look to improve the production service through the improvement of processes and procedures via technical solution
  • Ensuring the appropriate level of call management is being applied in line with the clients Service Level Agreements
  • The analysis and resolution of complex incidents raised by Clients including
  • Identification of faulty software and omissions in functionality (including debugging code where necessary)
  • Correction to data where required on client databases
  • Correction of problems caused by incorrect use of application functionality
  • Correction of system configuration faults
  • To consult on and be an active member of the departments System Deployment Team. Ensuring that all deployments follow the standard deployment process

To be successful in this role candidates will require:

  • Very Strong understanding of all aspects of the systems software development life cycle and service management processes, including:
  • Strong customer delivery focus
  • Able to communicate with front end users, senior business users, consultancy development staff and senior management
    • Code promotion and release process
    • Change Control
    • Incident and Problem Management
    • Availability Management
    • Contingency planning / Business Continuity / Risk Management Planning
    • Configuration Management
  • A strong understanding of the infrastructure within which the application exists, covering:
    • Core infrastructure, Network typologies and components, Firewalls, Switching, SAN, Load balancers
  • The Java software platform and concepts Performance Analysis, event management tools and investigations
    Server (O/S (Linux & Windows), Security, Disk Storage configuration (logical & physical))
  • Strong Technical knowledge of programming/debugging in Java J2EE environments, Jboss Middleware
  • In depth understanding of database concepts (specifically Oracle), which will include design, interrogation (SQL), maintenance and performance tuning

Desirable Skills or Knowledge

  • Understanding at a technical level of Bravura product functionality, and key financial application processes
  • An ability to quickly gain a comprehensive understanding of Bravura primary and ancillary systems application configuration
  • An appreciation of the key processes within the financial industry, and a comprehensive understanding of all financial terms and acronyms
  • A detailed understanding of the wealth management administration processes, and the associated application of Bravura software solutions
  • The ability to appreciate high level business considerations, and adopt appropriate client management strategies based upon Bravura Solutions agreed business directives
  • An understanding of key regulatory reporting processes, and the associated deadlines¬† #LI-DNI
