About the role

Bravura Solutions is currently recruiting for a Development Backlog Manager to be an integral member of our Development team. The Development Back Log Manager position boats the opportunity to be involved with global teams across our high-profile client implementation projects. You will be exposed to the full project life-cycle, engaging with our Product, Solutions Design, Professional Services and Development teams.

The essence of the position is to manage and promote the flow of development work into our engineering department ensuring we are meeting our velocity targets from both an external and internal perspective. This is an exciting opportunity that offers the ability to enhance your exposure to, and experience in, client facing software delivery programmes of work.

This position is ideal for a candidate who is looking to take the next step into Project Management.

Main activities

  • Planning and managing the design process for Sonata change ensuring due process is followed
  • Reporting progress and status to stakeholders across requirement, functional design, and technical elaboration phases, ensuring all defined quality gates are managed
  • Working with consultancy, solution design, product and engineering teams to ensure availability of resources to complete tasks in accordance with the published milestones in the Design Plan
  • Working with the Delivery Managers in Engineering and Solution Design to ensure joined up planning across, design and development activities
  • Planning and proactively managing the requirements & solution process to the point where work is ready for development through the creation of a development backlog, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action
  • Reporting on the progress of the work at regular intervals to all stakeholders
  • Working with the PM to manage dependencies and interfaces between workstreams, and advising the PM on impacts of client escalations & prioritisations

To be successful in this role candidates will require:

  • Excellent planning, organizing and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately to all levels of the Bravura organisation including the Executive
  • Strong understanding and application of Project Management methodologies, for example gained through position as a PMO Analyst or as part of a PMO team
  • Strong understanding and application of change management competencies
  • Experience in the delivery of complex commercial software development projects to budget, time and quality as part of a project team
