About the role

The GFAS Developer role sits within the GFAS Development team at Bravura Solutions (UK) Limited. The GFAS team is responsible for successful delivery of GFAS project work within Bravura’s client base.The role is responsible for the design and delivery of high quality GFAS application program enhancements, documentation and support services to Bravura’s clients.

Main activities

  • Produce cost-effective and reliable GFAS software designs, specifications and system documentation
  • Provide detailed and accurate estimates of development effort vs. requirements
  • Work collaboratively with other development and test teams where required
  • Support both Bravura and the clients’ understanding of the products under development.
  • Translate business requirements into appropriate GFAS technical designs
  • Design and documentation of technical proposals relating to GFAS projects
  • Development and coding of a cost-effective and reliable solution to meet the clients’ requirements
  • Ownership of the technical quality of their work and of their team’s delivered solutions if appropriate
  • Provide assistance to resolve operational issues, as required
  • Identify and communicate project risks and issues to their project or development manager
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of technical standards, processes and methodologies within the group
  • Maintain their own working knowledge of industry developments and trends.
  • Prepare periodic progress reports as required

To be successful in this role candidates will require:

  • Extensive experience working on the GFAS platform
  • Proven experience working as a Developer within a financial services environment
  • Excellent technical knowledge of RPG400, RPG ILE and CL, including Service Programs and embedded SQL
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of ALDON Change Management
  • Experience of major databases i.e. DB2/400, Sybase, Oracle or DB2/UDB to include significant expertise in SQL
