About the role

You will be working within the global engineering leadership team, responsible for establishing and leading the new Solution Design Team reporting to the Head of Global Engineering.

You will be the key conduit of enhancements into Sonata, liaising with Professional services, the Product team and Architecture to transform of product requirements into design.

A major part of the role will involve managing a global team with centres of design excellence in Poland, UK, Australia, India and New Zealand. You will encourage, enable, endorse and lead the effort to transition from a project driven methodology to a product driven methodology within Bravura Solutions, and introduce and maintain consistent practice across all design centres.

You will be an excellent communicator with stakeholders ranging from the Bravura leadership team to software engineers within the scrum. You will be hands on and capable of transforming complex ideas into achievable designs that can be implemented by the engineering teams.

Main activities

  • Establish, lead & mentor the Solution Design Team globally
  • Collaborate with the Product team to deliver on the product and regulatory change roadmap
  • Collaborate with the Architecture team to deliver on the technical roadmap where these need to be delivered through consolidated feature design
  • Design product features that align with customer requirements in collaboration with the Professional Services team
  • Ensure that the Product Engineering Team is briefed and understands the features required
  • Create and maintain a consistent set of design processes & artefacts
  • Provide governance and approve change to Sonata product features
  • Lead & contribute to ongoing process improvement across the wider engineering group

Typical Experience

  • Experience of managing a team within a software engineering function.
  • Experience of design within a financial services organization is desirable
  • At least 10 years of architecture & design experience.
  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
