About the role

The technical consultant will be responsible for providing technical advice and guidance to external and internal clients.  The role holder will be an expert in all Wealth Management related software, interfaces, solutions and implementations within Bravura EMEA. They will be involved in the support and resolution of complex technical requirements or issues.  The role has client-facing aspects, including visits to client offices.

Summary

  • Advise on client projects regarding integration of Bravura’s WM products into the client’s systems environment
  • Advise on infrastructure requirements and deployment model for Bravura’s WM products
  • Work with client projects to document the integration model
  • Gather and document requirements and solution designs for system enhancements to support integration and technically complex processing areas
  • Liaise with the Bravura development team to ensure technical and integration solutions are delivered in line with design expectations
  • Acceptance testing of integration enhancements to validate functionality and gain familiarity with configuration
  • Directly support clients integration development and configuration against Sonata interfaces
  • Liaise with global technical colleagues

Main activities

  • Advising and supporting client implementations of the Sonata application suite
  • Advising on infrastructure environment requirements for client implementations of Sonata
  • Workshops, meetings, and liaison with clients to determine systems integration requirements
  • Production of solution design documents which describe integration models and interaction, and define required enhancements to Sonata
  • Defining and documenting solution designs for technical aspects of functional enhancements, working with Business Analysts in production of the functional solution design document
  • Defining contracts and behaviours for new and enhanced interfaces to support client systems integration
  • Involvement in scoping studies and the provision of solutions to clients
  • Providing guidance and support for integration of client systems and web sites to Sonata
  • Providing support and analysis in performance planning and benchmark exercises
  • Advising project teams on technical issues where necessary
  • Working with global Product Management and Development teams to provide technical consultancy input into product and technical enhancements
  • Sonata web services – design of service contracts, support of clients in using them
  • Providing guidance to clients around the deployment and upgrade of the Sonata suite
  • Liaising with the development team to ensure understanding of requirements and solution expectations
  • Validation of technical aspects of system enhancements prior to client delivery
  • Production of technical configuration documentation
  • Technical troubleshooting

  • Knowledge of Investment, Life, Pensions, and WRAP business
  • Advanced knowledge of software platform architectures, including deployment models and integration
  • Business knowledge within the Insurance and Finance sector to achieve the desired functionality with the Sonata software
  • Knowledge of Java technologies
  • Knowledge of HTML/XML/XSLT scripting
  • A proven understanding of the development life cycle with a wide understanding of project deliverables
  • Knowledge of Web services and XML

Experience

  • Commercial software development experience – preferably in Java technologies
  • Proven experience within a financial services environment
  • Proven experience in a client facing role
